Technical Onboarding Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for developing, refining, and following the project plan to ensure customers have an exceptional onboarding experience. This role will interface with the client to gather end user requirements based on the statement of work to create work tasks for the complete install/migration and set deadlines for deliverables the Project Manager will track. This role will continue to monitor tasks and deliverables to ensure they are being completed in conjunction with the PM. This role would work with the client to remove obstacles and/or issues that arise when trying to complete deliverable deadlines. A solid customer service personality is required in addition to the ability to gather customer technical, business, and compliance requirements. Ability to appropriately and accurately document customer environments while being able to clearly communicate to the MSP team. During this process, the onboarding engineer will be responsible for creating and performing network assessments and remediation strategies to help our customers stabilize their environments. When not onboarding, the Onboarding Engineer will support the MSP team as needed for support overflow and escalations.

 

Responsibilities include

  • Onboarding all Managed IT infrastructure for new clients
  • Document Network infrastructure deliverables during implementation of new clients based on project scope and timelines
  • Interface and work with customers and departments to ensure a smooth implementation of IT Infrastructure based on Statement of Work.
  • Document Line of Business applications outside the standard industry client specific requirements
  • Document remote access needs and use
  • Identify issues during onboarding assessment that may impact service delivery
  • Document customer process such as user onboarding/offboarding
  • Leverage ITGlue and ConnectWise Manage and other internal systems to maintain customer information
  • Build out document templates and mature the onboarding project for improved service delivery
  • Run health checks on foundational services (i.e. Active Directory) to ensure maximum support going forward
  • Remediate identified issues

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role with project experience
  • Microsoft or ComptTIA Certifications desired, but not required
  • PMP or PMI certifications, nice to have
  • Working knowledge of how various systems interact to conduct rapid troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of routers, servers, PCs, printers, and other equipment and an understanding on how to manage LANs and wired/wireless networks to connect these devices
  • Knowledge of the O365, and Cloud Virtualization environments, AD
